... have you ever felt the urge to pick at your skin to cope with negative emotions? ...

For some, Skin Picking goes so far that it impairs the persons everyday and social life.

In that case the behaviour can be categorized as a disorder, called Excoriation/ Dermatillomania.

And, for a behavior spread among 2-5% of the population,

it is an extremely missunderstood and not talked about topic.

We follow Yesim [17] and Vroni [17] through their stressful vacation in Venice.

Different views on sightseeing and the packed touristic scape lead to tension between the girls.

Yesim especially has a hard time keeping up with Vroni and ends up turning to old Skin Picking patterns to relieve stress. Highly ashamed and disappointed Yesim hides her problem… until she can't any longer.

Triggered by Venice surroundings and its crumbling housewalls as an allegory to her disorder. Can Yesim open up to Vroni in hopes of being heard and accepted by her friend?
